（O） I have a child with me. Can I get on now?
說明：with child是表示「懷孕」的片語，孕婦搭機或許需要出示醫師開立的適航證明，各家航空公司規定亦不同，誤會若沒有澄清，恐怕上不了飛機。
例：I have children with me. Could you help me with these suitcases？（我帶著孩子，能否幫我拿這些行李？）
#請找找這件紅色行李。
（X） Please search this red luggage.
（O） Please search for this red luggage.
說明：帶著大包小包準備登機，卻發現其中一件行李不見了，請航站人員代為「尋找」，要用search for這個片語，只用search意思會變成「搜查」，容易讓人以為行李裡裝了違禁品。
例：That's my suitcase! Thank you for helping me search for it.（那就是我的行李箱！謝謝您幫忙尋找。）
#我的護照被偷了。
（X） My passport was stolen.
（O） Someone stole my passport.
說明：用be V＋stolen表示「被偷」乍看之下沒有錯，但整句話也可能被解讀成「我的護照是偷來的」，用主動語態來表達才不會節外生枝。
例：Someone stole my passport. I must call the police.（我的護照被偷了，我必須報警。）

中譯: 為了要check in，我們在起飛之前的兩個小時抵達機場了，但我們被告知無法 check in 因為班機超賣了!
這題其實是送分題，大家都知道 departure 起飛!
但可以看看題目出現 arrive at the airport 抵達機場。
需要注意的是: arrive in 以及 arrive at 都是表示「到達某地」的意思，但使用場合有所不同。
一般說來，
arrive at 用於較小的場所，如車站、機場、鄉鎮等地；
arrive in 用於較大的場所，如城市和國家
You arrive in a big place.( Paris, New York)
You arrive at a small place.(airport, train station..)
這樣看來，下一題就顯得很簡單了吧?
The flight arrives ___ Tokyo in three hours.
(A) into
(B) in
(C) at
(D) on
答案: (B) arrives in Tokyo.

「粽子」的英語說法，可用 rice dumpling 兩字帶過。
在西方世界裡，dumpling 原是指包有水果餡的一種點心，後來因為中式食物裡很多都是麵糊裡包有內餡，所以只要是有含餡的中式食物，都可以用 dumpling 一以概之，例如水餃、芝麻湯圓、粽子、餡餅、包子、小籠包、鍋貼、燒賣、水晶餃等諸般種種。
粽子因為是用糯米所包，所以亦可用 rice dumpling 加以小小區別。至於糯米、紫米、在來米、蓬萊米、知本米要用何種學名的 rice（米），這大概對外國客戶沒有那麼重要，所以不妨一言以蔽之的用 rice 帶過。

語言的表達很多都是這樣：意思沒有太大差別，但是口吻不太一樣，表現出來的氣質大不相同。
1、I would like ／ I want
在飛機上，我們順口向服務人員說「我要一杯水」，聽起來也不那麼刺耳，但英文裡「I want」這個字，顯得太直接，用多了有頤指氣使之嫌。換種口氣，你會發現服務員的笑容不一樣了。
（使喚）I want a cup of water.／I want a magazine.
（客氣）I’d like a cup of water, please. 例句：I would like to bring in some new people.（我想多用一些新人。）
2、What is your meaning? ／ What do you mean?
要問別人「你的意思是什麼？」不要那麼直接說 What is your meaning? 這句話會聽起來像「你的人生有何意義」，似乎對方沒有存在的必要，不禮貌。 「意思」在中文裡多半是名詞，但在英文裡mean卻是動詞。應該這樣說才對：What do you mean?
例句：What do you mean by that?（你說那句話是什麼意思？）
3、You did it wrong. ／ I am sorry to bother you.
就算別人做錯了，也不要一開口就說 You did it wrong. 先來一句 I'm sorry to bother you. 和你的對話的人會更有意願聽你說。
例句：I'm sorry to bother you, but I ordered coffee, not tea.（不好意思，我點的是咖啡而不是茶。）
4、I'm afraid I can't. ／ No
有時候太直接了當就說 No，不僅不禮貌，大剌剌得罪人了還不知道，特別是當別人要求的是一件很簡單的事情但我們卻無法幫忙時，你可以用 I'm afraid I can't.
例句：I'm afraid I can't agree to the terms.（很抱歉我無法同意你們的條件。）
